GAIMIN Gladiators Rocket League Team

Rocket League is a sport-based video game featuring a competitive game mode based on teamwork and outmaneuvering components. Developed by Psyonix, the game is cross-platform, but predominantly PC-based.

Players work with their team to advance the ball down the field, and score goals in their opponents’ net. Rocket League is a technical game which involves both high-level dexterity and fast-paced gameplay. Its alignment with football/soccer makes it instantly accessible.

Each team starts on opposite sides of the field, as either the Blue or Orange team. When the timer begins, players race to be the first to hit the ball with their car. Once the ball is in play, the clock winds down until a team scores by hitting the ball into the opposing team’s goal, at which point players return to their starting positions and repeat that process until time runs out. The team with the most goals at the end of regulation wins. If there is a tie, the teams play periods of overtime until a winner is determined.

The use of cars within gameplay is the key USP within Rocket League. Players choose their vehicles before each game and have the ability to customise their vehicles. During gameplay, cars can be “boosted” by driving over lit circles on the field, and can “fly” when a boost is combined with a jump.

Each year of Rocket League Esports culminates in the Rocket League Championship Series. The best teams from Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America compete for more than $1,000,000 in prize money and to become World Champions. To reach that point, teams have to prove themselves over the course of qualifiers, tournaments, and Regular Seasons in their local regions.

GAIMIN Gladiators Rocket League Team

The GAIMIN Gladiators Rocket League team comprises an accomplished and successful roster. Previously known as 3RATS, the team has dominated the APAC South region and are six time regional APAC South champions.

With the recent announcement from Psyonix this past year that APAC will be receiving major spots as well as World Championship opportunities, 3RATS took it up a notch, once a freestyling group of players, now competing with the very best. The team has shown complete dominance in the APAC South region winning several regions in a row and going undefeated throughout the Winter Split.

As part of the GAIMIN Gladiators community, the team will be attending various bootcamps to fine tune their skills and progress in the various leagues, hopefully culminating in the Championships later in the year.

The 3RATS Team consists of:

At the time of publication, the 3RATS, with more than twice the number of points of the next league teams, 3RATS have virtually guaranteed themselves a place in the July World Championships, which is one of the largest esports events in the industry, generating significant brand awareness leading up to the event and during the tournament.

Southern Europe Blackout: How DePIN-powered Systems Can Stay Connected Even During Outages

On 28 April 2025, at around 12:33 CEST, a major power blackout occurred across the Iberian Peninsula, affecting mainland Portugal, peninsular Spain, and some parts of southern France. The outage was catastrophic, paralyzing the affected regions' transport, communications, and essential connectivity services. This event, which affected over 60 million people, underscores the vulnerability of centralized systems to single points of failure, even in the subject of energy infrastructures. It highlights how technical faults, supply-demand imbalances, or potential cyberattacks in centralized networks can cause widespread disruption. While this article isn’t about how GAIMIN is looking to decentralize the energy infrastructure industry YET, we can apply the same lessons from this event to the need for decentralization in our current industry - Computing. This is where Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) come into play. By employing decentralized nodes, DePIN networks offer enhanced resilience. This diversifies the computing power source for the system and eliminates single points of failure, ultimately ensuring a more robust and reliable network.
