July was an event-packed month across the GAIMIN ecosystem. On the ground in Riyadh, the Gaimin Gladiators (GG) competed across multiple titles in the global spotlight of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025. Online, our network pushed out major thought leadership content and events, scaled up community campaigns, and continued tightening the economics behind $GMRX with another major burn. Leadership also stepped up with new strategic appointments and high-profile speaking appearances across various sectors of our industry.
Here are the highlights of what happened in July at GAIMIN.
The Esports World Cup 2025 kicked off in Riyadh this month, and some members of the GAIMIN team and community were on the ground to support the Gaimin Gladiators as they competed across multiple titles.
In Dota 2, our team made it to the quarter-finals before being knocked out by Team Spirit — who went on to lift the title. In Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, GG went one better, reaching the finals and finishing as runners-up in a hard-fought match against Team Vitality.
While the outcomes weren’t the fairytale endings fans hoped for, the community spirit was real, and we thank everyone for their support. To mark the beginning of the tournament in July, we hosted a live watch-along party for the EWC opening ceremony from our Lisbon studio, bringing together GG and esports fans, players, presenters, and creators to celebrate the moment together.
Following the tournament, we launched a Fantasy League referral campaign, offering $500 in prizes to 50 community members who helped grow the EWC platform by bringing their friends in. Full details are in this post.
Another major step in $GMRX’s long-term economic model was taken this month, with the burn of 103.5 million GMRX tokens. This continues our commitment to reducing circulating supply and strengthening token fundamentals for long-term holders. Check out the full burn announcement on CoinMarketCap.
We published an in-depth editorial series this month in the 5 Days of Cloud — a breakdown of the gaps in the legacy cloud model, what DeCloud offers in its place, and who this future is being built for. Make sure to check out the full series on the GAIMIN Cloud blog below:
The series makes the case for DeCloud not as a future concept, but as an infrastructure solution that already works today for many industries, especially for compute-heavy sectors like gaming, AI, and content.
We also published a focused piece on gaming infrastructure this month: Why Cost-efficient Decentralized File Sharing is Critical for the Gaming Industry, which explores how game studios and platforms can reduce high backend costs without compromising performance.
July saw GAIMIN’s leadership step into the spotlight across multiple high-profile events.
CEO Nökkvi Ellidason was a featured guest on BNB Chain’s Gaming X Space, where he discussed how GAIMIN is pushing the boundaries of Web3 gaming and onboarding the next generation of players and developers. He also appeared on the widely followed Mario Nawfal Roundtable, a high-profile stage that has hosted Elon Musk, CZ (Binance), Michael Saylor (MicroStrategy), and Anthony Scaramucci (SkyBridge), where he delivered a brilliant presentation on the entire GAIMIN ecosystem and our unique business model our decentralized to a broader blockchain and business audience. Mario shared his excitement about GAIMIN’s business model, noting the 1.5 billion gaming PCs worldwide that can power decentralized cloud services, and highlighting the Gaimin Gladiators esports brand as a key driver of global awareness.
Nökkvi also featured in another session with representatives from YOM and Aleph Cloud in a podcast episode hosted by Blockchain Gaming Alliance (BGA), discussing the growing opportunity within the DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks) space, a sector that GAIMIN’s model is uniquely positioned to serve.
We also made a significant internal move this month, welcoming two new members, Steve Cadigan and Alexis Dahan, to GAIMIN’s Advisory Board. These very seasoned professionals bring extensive experience across the Gaming, Cloud, and Web3 business spaces, helping to guide our growth into 2026. Learn more about them and their impressive portfolios on LinkedIn.
We kept the community close in July, with several live campaigns, contests, and feedback initiatives rolled out, which had several rewards like this for the lucky winners.
To match all of this activity, we also made a brand update: our official X page handle, formerly @GMRX_io, is now @GAIMIN_Network, better reflecting the scale and scope of our ecosystem updates published there.
GAIMIN entered July with momentum and wrapped the month with deeper community connection, stronger infrastructure education, and sharper leadership presence across the industry. As we enter August and gear up for new, exciting releases in the coming months, our focus remains steady: scaling real use cases for decentralized infrastructure, growing the ecosystem through community engagement, and building a stronger network that works for gamers, developers, and infrastructure clients alike.
We also ran a mid-year feedback survey, inviting our community to share honest thoughts on our products, platform, and company direction. Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond. If you haven’t shared your feedback, please do; your opinion matters to us.
Stay tuned for what’s coming next!
